Colombia is the country with the greatest bird diversity in the world, with more than 1900 officially recorded bird species (20% of all birds in the world). Colombia is located north of the equator, has many different microclimates and ecosystems, and is surrounded by rainforest and two oceans, making it home to many different birds.
